Fishing and Diving Charters with
True Blue Ocean Adventures
Whether you’re a seasoned fisherman or a first time angler, True Blue provides a friendly charter that will have you fishing like a pro in no time (even the kids!)
With our limited numbers and smaller boat size we have the flexibility to accomodate every angler. Each trip will be tailored to suit the day.
The beauty of fishing with True Blue Ocean Adventures is that we go at your pace, and will help as much (or as little) as you need.
All fishing gear, bait and ice is supplied. So you have to bring is a great attitude, a keen sense of adventure, your lunch and a change of clothing.
The True Blue Difference – What to Expect
Your Captain Aimee will welcome you on board and you’ll be briefed on what to expect during the trip. She will take you through some safety formalities, and explain the facilities on board (yes ladies, there is a toilet on the boat!)
Depending on the conditions and the capabilities of the group we have on board, Aimee will plan the trip to make sure everyone has a great time. Our years of experience tell us where the fish are biting we will make every effort to make sure you go home with a catch!
Depending on what kind of experience you’re after we will head out to the Mussel Farm, the Rurimas, behind Whale or even out to Whale Island (time permitting).
When we are ready to drop some lines, Aimee will get you all set up using the fishing gear on board.
If you’re confident – then she will leave you to it! Otherwise shes there to help out with the rods and will even bait the hooks for those that want it.
When the trip is done you’ll be returned to the Ohiwa Wharf with your catch and a smile from ear to ear!
Half-Day Public Charters – Inshore / Whakatohea Mussel Farm $170/pp
Our public half-day charters will depart twice daily (at 8am and at 1pm) depending on numbers*.
From Boxing Day until the end of January 2023 (unless privately booked), you’ll be enjoying 4 hours of fishing with True Blue amongst others who are keen to get out for a fish.
Depending on the weather, we will head to the Whakatohea Mussel Farm to try our luck or head towards Rurima Rocks.
Catch possibilities: Snapper, Tarakihi, Gurnard, Kingfish, Kahawai and more!
*Minimum of 6 people for the boat to run and a maximum number of 10 on any public charter.
Private Charters
Our half day or whole day private charters are full of possibilities!
Half day departing at 8am and 1pm daily or full day departing at 8am and returning at 4pm.
Fishing the Whakatohea Mussel Farm, Whale Island, Rurima Rocks and White Island, targeting a range of species from Snapper to Seasonal Marlin.
Inshore / Whakatohea Mussel Farm
Head to the Whakatohea Mussel Farm or out to Whale Island or the Rurima Rocks.
What to bring: Lunch, clothing for all seasons and we’ll supply the rest.
Catch possibilities: Snapper, Tarakihi, Gurnard, Kingfish, Kahawai and more!
Half day – $1000 for up to six people + $50 per person with a maximum of 10 anglers.
Whole day – $1500 for up to six people + $50 per person with a maximum of 10 anglers.
White Island
Fish or Dive
Venture out to White Island and fish the depths of an active volcano. Or jump in the surrounding waters to see what you can find. Catering to free diving, scuba* and deep sea fishing lovers.
What to bring: Lunch, clothing for all seasons and diving gear if required.
Catch possibilities: Kingfish, Packhorse Crayfish, Hapuka, Bass, Bluenose, Gemfish.
*Note: No dive gear supplied.
Whole day – $2500 for up to six people + $50 per person with a maximum of 10 anglers.
Game Fishing Full Day Adventure
Marlin and Tuna pass through our waters at certain times of the year.
Get on board with True Blue and give the big game fish a go!
What to bring: Lunch, clothing for all seasons and we’ll supply the rest.
Whole day – $2500 for up to six people + $50 per person with a maximum of 10 anglers.
